Committees, Chairpersons, & Committee Descriptions
Book Fair: Laurie Bechtel, Chair & Vivian Paulter, Co-Chair
This committee is responsible for coordinating the book fair, including coordinating dates with the school administration and the vendor, creating flyers to promote the event, set up ans breakdown as well as running the book fair during specified times.
Booster Club: Lynn Faust, Chair
This committee is responsible for raising monies to support all sports at FTS. In addition, this committee will help foster good sportsmanship, school spirit, pride, and family participation.
Box Tops For Education: Christine Mathews, Chair
This committee is responsible for promoting the program, collecting the Box Tops from classrooms, submitting them for payment and coordinating prizes for classrooms/students.
Bulletin Boards: Maureen Polkowitz, Chair
This committee is responsible for decorating the two PTA bulletin boards with current PTA news, events, pictures and information.
Campbell's Labels for Education: Christine Mathews, Chair
This committee is responsible for promoting the program, collecting the Labels from classrooms, submitting them for credit and coordinating prizes for classrooms/students.
Clothing Drive: Susan Doering, Chair
This committee is responsible for coordinating clothing drive(s) during the school year including coordinating dates with the school administration and the cendor, creating flyers to promote the event, set up and breakdown as well as running the clothing drive during specified time.
Cultural Arts: Jennfier May, Chair & Vivian Paulter, Co-Chair
This committee is responsible for choosing assembly programs that will enrich and entertain the FTS students. They will work with the guidance department and school administration to secure dates, equipment and any other needs for the events.
Education Committee: Vivian Paulter, Chair & Jennifer May, Co-Chair
This committee is responsible for choosing education programs that will enrich the education of FTS students. They will work with the school administration to create programs and activities. Secure facilities, coordinate dates, create flyers to promote the event and run the event during the specified times. 100 Book Challenge, Bookmobile, and the FTS Library are some of the programs and projects this committee will be working on this school year.
Eight Grade Fundraising: Diana Russillo, Chair
This committee is responsible for the fundraisers for 8th grade.
Family Activities: Needs a Chair
This committee is responsible for coordinating family events such as the Harvest Festival, Snowflake Ball and Spring Luau along with any other events that are added throughout the year. This includes securing facilities, coordinating dates, creating flyers to promote the event and running the event during specified times.
FTS In The Press: Nancy Gaidos, Chair
This committee is responsible for promoting FTS and the students by sending press releases and photos to the local newspapers and the FTS website. They are also responsible for being present at various PTA functions to take pictures.
Fun Fair: Gina Edwards, Chair
This committee is responsible for coordinating the FUn Fair. This includes securing facilities, equipment and donations, promoting the event and running the event during the specified times.
Getting To Know You: Kimberly Lundgren, Chair
This committee is responsible for coordinating the pre-school program. This includes curriculum, promoting the event and running the event during the specified times.
Halloween Parade/Middle School Dance: Elena Gonzalez, Chair & Lynn Faust, Co-Chair
This committee is responsible for obtaining the prizes for the Halloween Parade for grades K-5th, and booking and decorating for the middle school Halloween dance party.
Holiday Shop: Karen Obiedzinski, Chair & Robin Ehrmann, Co-Chair
This committee is responsible for coordinating the dates, securing items that will be available for purchase by the students, promoting the event, set up and breakdown and running the event during specified times.
Hospitality: Jill Lagarenne, Chair
This committee is responsible for coordinating the donation of baked goods for various FTSPTA events throughout the school year.
Invest In Our Children Campaign: Jennifer May, Chair & Agnes Montieth, Co-Chair
This committee is responsible for coordinating the campaign, collecting the donations, following up on matching funds, and having campaign information available at Back to School Night.
Membership: Vigdis Austad, Chair
This committee is responsible for coordinating membership sign up including collecting membership dues, distributing PTA membership cards as requested, having membership information available at Back to School Night and submitting dues to the NJ State PTA.
Monthly Teacher/Staff Breakfast: Kim Hiemstra, Chair
This committee is responsible for coordinating breakfast to be delivered to the teacher/staff lounge once a month on specified dates.
Mother's Day Plant Sale: Marcy Masino, Chair
This committee is responsible for coordinating the annual plant sale in May. This includes securing donations, set up and break down and running the sale during specified times.
Paw Prints FTS Newspaper: Mary Ann Drawl, Chair
This committee is responsible to coordinate, guide, edit and copy Paw Prints the FTS newspaper.
Room Parent Coordination: Christine Mathews, Chair
This committee is responsible for gathering the list of volunteers, meeting with each classroom teacher to determine the Room Parent for each class. If more than one person volunteers for a class, a name witll be randomly puller by the classroom teacher.
School Beautification: Marybeth Forbes, Chair & Deb Merola, Co-Chair
This committee is responsible for maintaining and seasonally decorating the exterior appearance of the school grounds.
School Directory: Susan Doering, Chair
This committee is responsible for collecting and entering all data for the directory, as well as obtaining business sponsors to advertise in our directory.
School Store: Laurie Bechtel, Chair
This committee is responsible for coordinating dates with school administration, procurement of merchandise for purchase by students and running the store during specified times.
ShopRite Fundraising: Gaby Prieto, Chair
This committee is responsible for the ShopRite fundraiser for 6th grade.
Ski Club: Diana Russillo, Chair & Jason Farnsworth, Co-Chair
This committee is responsible for promoting the Ski Club, collecting membership dues, organizing transportation and volunteers to chaperone each trip.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation: Agnes Monteith, Chair & Peggy York, Co-Chair
This Committee is responsible for coordinating the staff's First Day of School Breakfast, as well as Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week along with the assistance of room parents.
Viridian Fundraiser: Kristy Ball, Chair
